Is bipolar curable?

Like other mental health conditions, bipolar disorder can be treated, but not cured forever. Most people with bipolar disorder go on to experience manic and depressive episodes throughout their lives. Even if you’ve felt “normal” for a long time, there’s no guarantee your bipolar symptoms won’t come back.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that there are many treatments and tools that can help you live a good life with bipolar disorder. Lifestyle changes, support groups, medications, therapy, and learning more about bipolar disorder can all help. Everyone is different, so you’ll probably need to find a combination that works best for you. But many people with bipolar disorder learn to cope with their symptoms so that they can live the lives they want.
