About this tool
Q Chat Space online discussion groups give you a safer space to meet other LGBTQ+ and questioning teens (13 to 19 years old) and discuss topics relevant to your identities and experiences. It is not a forum. It is a live chat; there is no video or audio. Everyone is chatting during the same time. It’s safer, because there is always a facilitator present, someone who works at an LGBTQ+ center.
When you join a Q Chat Space discussion, a facilitator will greet you. There will be some time to informally meet others who are joining the discussion. After introductions and a review of group agreements, there will be open discussion on a designated topic and sometimes it is just open discussion. You are free to share as much or as little as you like. Check it out and see the schedule for upcoming groups here: https://www.qchatspace.org/
What people say about it
A lot of people say that talking online is really impersonal and stuff but I feel so much love radiating from my computer screen
I feel pretty good since I got to talk to you guys

I was very shy at first but I feel that I'm getting more comfortable and open!? I do love chatting with you all
i came here because i wanted to find myself cause right now im questioning my sexuality but i know im genderfluid. It's just my sexuality i dont know about. Also i wanted to talk to more lgbt people.
Thank you all for a nice chat. It's refreshing to talk about serious issues like representation ?
I am home schooled! It is just hard to find friends, luckily I have this to talk to people and have a great time just like real life
online is so much easier to talk to people because in person i feel like there’s so many expectations I need to meet but online I’m free to be me
About the creator
CenterLink develops strong, sustainable LGBT community centers and builds a thriving center network that creates healthy, vibrant communities. Q Chat Space is provided by CenterLink in partnership with our member LGBTQ+ centers. Q Chat Space facilitators are youth program staff at our member centers.
Q Chat Space is free.
Q Chat Space is here to support you, but the facilitators are not acting as mental health professionals. And, while we won’t share the information you discuss in the group, there are a few exceptions to that. Q Chat Space facilitators may be required by state law to report information shared in the group if you share that you are being abused (physically, sexually, or emotionally) or that you want to hurt yourself or someone else. If you have questions about this, we are happy to explain the process and keep you informed as we make a report.
